Redbox Instant Now Available To Public
After a three month Beta test, Redbox Instant is now available to the public. The new streaming service is a collaboration of Coinstar, the parent company of Redbox, and Verizon.
So what makes Redbox Instant different than Netflix? With Redbox Instant, users get unlimited access to about 4,000 movies and four DVD rentals from a Redbox kiosk, for $8 a month. Content partners include Warner Bros and Epix , which provides content from Viacom, MGM and Lions Gate Entertainment.
While Netflix seems to favor mainly TV series for their streaming library, Redbox Instant CEO Shawn Strickland said his product's focus remains movies in both physical and digital forms.
Right now you can sign up for a one month trial of Redbox Instant by visiting their website. In addition to watching on your computer, there is also support for the Xbox 360, iOS and Android users, along with those who own a Vizio, LG, Samsung or Google TV product.
Anyone tried Redbox Instant yet? I may just give it a shot.
