Listening thru TV speakers.....THE HORROR!
My Integra DHC 80.1 took a dump on me & stopped putting out any sound, a processor reset didn't help & I had to pull it & send it back to the mother ship for repair.
Since all my old gear was given to family members I'm going to be listening to everything thru the TV speakers!
I can not remember the last time I did that!
Gonna be a long month & racing season is in full swing!

That sucks. If you were closer, I have an Onkyo AVR you could drive over and pick up. It has pre outs and everything.
Want to road trip to Georgia?

Thanks but I'll tough it out!

It's really gonna suck though watching NHRA Drag racing with no Fathom!"Racing is........Life.......Everything before & after is just waiting"

Hopefully you can add a sub.
I've been keeping a spare amplifier for the last seven years and all it's done is collect dust which is not all bad. I really should have sold it while it had value. I find it amazing the performance provided by an entry level AVR these days.

That SUCKS!!!!!
Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully, Onkyo will get you a fast turn around.
This story reminds me of a project we did at Cello for Kerry Packer (media mogul from down under) for his 400 foot yacht. He had a full Cello system on board with first gen Theta Casablanca, Faroudja VP400s, Vidikron Vision One etc.... He also had one to two BACKUPS for everything with an on-ship staff trained to fix it (even if it needed a ship-to-shore call for some tech support) to keep the theater going while at sea or in some exotic port.
With that said - your problem Moose is: you need a bigger yacht so you can have a back up AV preamp!
Tough it out until your repair comes through and try not to blow the TV speakers...---

I'm back up and running!!
They had to replace my HDMI board, seems it's a common problem for people using baluns!
According to my dealer it's reached epidemic proportions & they are developing a $300 filter to fix it & new Receivers/pre-pros are going to be more expensive.
But that's another post, I'm just glad to be able to listen the way it was meant to be!
You just don't know what you have till you lose it for a while!"Racing is........Life.......Everything before & after is just waiting"

So what are you going to do to keep it from happening again. $300 for a filter is a bit pricey. Why not just run HDMI for that one run?
