Oppo Makes My Christmas UltraHD Cool

I just got me a new toy just in time for Christmas. Oppo BDP-203!!!!

I've got the Samsung but have never used it.

I need to get a custom faceplate for the new Oppo from Middle Atlantic and get its controls programmed into my Crestron which shouldn't be too hard.

Adrienne is reviewing one RIGHT NOW. We are going to RUSH the review's publication. Some of my buddies are mad that the Oppo doesn't have a ton of Apps like it did in the past but a Roku for $120 does everything an Oppo can and better. I want the best in audio and video. I can stream elsewhere.

Anybody else getting one of these from Santa?

I got one the day after they went up for pre-order. It's nice to know people in the right places

It blows the Samsung player away...not even close. As for the apps, I have a TiVo that has all of the apps, so no big deal to me.

I would rather have a player that concentrates on doing one thing really well. Play Blu-ray discs with the best possible audio and video.

If I want apps, I'll use Chromecast or another streaming device.

Just plug an Amazon FireStick into one of the HDMI In Slots? No?

I am with you on the Apps. I've got Roku and still have an AppleTV although that unit isn't as important as it was for me years ago (gen 1 with an HD inside of it).

I agree with you Tracy. I can only imagine how hard-expensive it is to keep up with these $100-and-under streamers.
