Downton Abbey
I started watching Downton Abbey yesterday. It's an entertaining series about English nobilities. I had low expectations to start, but it's definitely been entertaining. The fast paced action movies make series like this seem slow at first.
I finshed the first Bluray disc of five, it remains to be seen if the series can maintain my interest.Richard

Richard and Steve,
First, this is an excellent show. As for the time period, it takes place in the early 20th Century starting when the Titanic sinks through WW1 in season two. I'm about 1/3 of the way through season two and absolutely love it!

I downloaded the characters with names, pictures and their role in the family which made it easier to follow. The production is quite amazing. You really feel you're in the early 1900's.

It was on PBS as a series, may still be.
Season III will be released in the UK in the fall of 2012.Last edited by k0rww; 02-20-2012 at 02:32 PM.

It pretty much swept The Emmy's after season one and is still getting high praise in season two, which just started here a few weeks back.
The old lady wants to see it, but it just doesn't look like something I'll be interested in.
Hell, if they want to do a period piece then bring back "The Big Valley"!
I'm pretty sure my ancestors fought of England so I WOULDN'T have to give a shit about English nobility!
And it worked, 'cause I don't!!
That being said, I'll probably end up watching it with the old lady!!
Did anybody on "The Big Valley" ever get pussy-whipped?
