I rarely comment on other publication's reviews but I just received my new digital issue of Stereophile on my Google tablet (shameless plug) and on the cover is the CP-800. As you all know I loved the CP-800 and found it to be among the most versatile 2-channel preamps ever. It's on board bass management, EQ capabilities, easy re-configuration (word?) and on board DAC were just SOME of the factors that contributed to the CP-800 being oh, so good.

Well, Stereophile too loved the CP-800 only THEY NEVER TESTED ANY OF ITS FEATURES!!! In their review, and by their own admission, they confirmed that the above mentioned features worked -as in were functioning -but tested the preamp in its default, out of the box configuration. WHAT! They had the preamp for 6 months (they're admission) and they didn't test its bass management, EQ or anything!? Come on man. Weak.

Andrew, do you think that Classe will bring some of this technology over to its SSP in the near future (at least the USB portion?
