Glass Harmonica, Have You Heard of It?

I'm sure you have rubbed your finger across the rim of a wine glass before, and heard the erie sound that it makes. You could go a step further with multiple glass, each with a different amount of water to produce different musical notes. Well, that is the concept of the Glass Harmonica or Glassarmonica.

The Glass Harmonica takes this to the next level. Here, see photo, glass bowls of varying diameters, are arranged onto a rotating wooden spindle. When you lightly press your finger over the bowls, a musical tone is produced. This particular model was invented by Benjamin Franklin in 1761.

That's interesting and the first time I have seen one. Of course, it's only been around for 250 years or so.
