GoldenEar Now Shipping New In-wall Speakers

Ever since I heard the Triton Two tower speakers at CEDIA, I have been in love with GoldenEar Technologies speakers. The company has a complete line of speakers including two sets of towers, three subwoofers, three satellite speakers options, and two bookshelf offerings.

Now the company had entered the in-wall market with their new Invisa 7000 and Invisa MPX lines.

    From HomeTheaterReview.com,
GoldenEar Technology recently announced that the new Invisa 7000 and Invisa MPX are now shipping. The two new models combine together, with one of GoldenEar's powered subwoofers, into a built-in home theater. The Invisa HTR 7000 and Invisa MPX expand GoldenEar's architectural offerings to four models, including the Invisa 525 and Invisa 650 introduced last year.

GoldenEar Invisa Series loudspeakers are engineered to deliver good sound quality from in-wall/in-ceiling speakers that are designed to blend with their surroundings. Both models incorporate a magnetically attached grille-covered/hidden flange construction that helps them blend in. Both models also incorporate a High Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR) tweeter similar to that used in GoldenEar's Triton towers.

The Invisa HTR 7000 is designed for use as a ceiling-mounted main front stage left-, right- or center-channel speaker, as well as for use as a side or rear surround speaker. It has a flat, round; magnetically attached micro-perf grille that covers the mounting flange. An optional square grille is available. The drivers are mounted at calculated angles so that they acoustically align directly at the normal listening position.

In order to achieve open, boxless, three-dimensional imaging that appears to come from across the front wall rather than the ceiling, great care has been taken to minimize deleterious diffraction effects as well as to optimize wave-launch into the room. This is achieved by combining GoldenEar FocusField Technology with a unique Non-Periodic Waveform (NPW) Diffraction Control and Wave-Launch construction.

The Invisa MPX combines the advantages of a direct-radiating loudspeaker with the spaciousness and dispersion of a bipolar speaker to make it a good choice for the rear or side surround channels of a multi-channel installation, as well as for front main speakers or for distributed audio multi-room installations. It can be mounted in ceilings or in walls and is flexible in terms of orientation. Like the other Invisa Series speakers, it has a flat magnetically attached micro-perf grille that covers the flange. It combines two angled spiderleg cast-basket 5" bass/midrange drivers, a High-Velocity Folded Ribbon Tweeter and a crossover network with a high-frequency equalization switch. Like the Invisa HTR 7000, it features GoldenEar's Non-Periodic Diffraction Control and Wave-Launch technology.

The Invisa HTR 7000 and Invisa MPX are available now for $499 each.

I talked with a reader who called me at the office and he was considering these as part of a TV-Living-Room system.

He was also looking at the Noble Fidelity and Wisdom Audio products.

Lots of good new in-walls out there. Reviews coming despite how hard they are to actually review.
