    S-Video vs Component Video

I have a pioneer elite dvl-91 laserdisc dvd player. it has component video and s-video out. I am assuming component is the best, am I right? I do not have the manual.

SVHS, in it's day, could carry 420 lines of resolution. In it's day Component could do 1080i. Recently, it was downgraded to 480 lines only. For all intents & purposes, they are both dead.
