    IR Remote Repeater

Does anyone know of a simple, cheap I R repeater? I just have one unit, a Verizon Cable box that I would like to keep in the closet right next to my wall hanging TV. But I have to open the closet door so the remote “sees” the box. IS there a cheap IF repeater I can use.

Now this is NOT a universal remote situation. It is just one remote for the TV set.

I checked Amazon but saw nothing I can use.

Do you have Radio Shack in your area? I bought these; they call them a "remote extender". They were around $45.

Mine has an 1/8" jack on the back of the receiver. You can mount the receiver above or below, and use a "blinker", plugged into the back to transfer the IR signal to your Verizon box.

Not sure what you mean by cheap, but this is the one I use and it is tiny.

Btw, if you click on the 1 port one it is cheaper (about $30).

    Hi David,

Had a second child a couple years ago and with my first now 7, kid events are taking up all my non work time. When I do find time to spend time on HT now it's mostly in the DIY and home automation sections over at AVS. Moving into a new home next year that has a huge family room (5,000 cubic feet or so) so looking into what I may have to do to get great sound and subwoofage in it, as well as whole house audio. All roads seem to end with Sonos on that front, save spending a ton on Creston or Control4 (though the thought of needing dealer involvement if I swap out any component makes me nauseous!).

Hope you guys are all doing well!
