Japanese Audiophiles Installing Private Power Transformers

How far are you willing to go, to get the ultimate AV performance? Why stop at buying high end speakers, amps, and preamps?

Apparently some Japanese audiophiles are taking AV performance seriously. Gizmodo is reporting that some are installing their own power pole and transformer to get the ultimate in clean power for their systems.

Takeo Morita, a retired lawyer in Japan.....realized that electromagnetic interference from his neighbors’ appliances was propagating through their shared power lines, reducing the quality of the sound he was getting.

The solution was to receive power more directly from his local power grid, which required the installation of his own private utility pole. With upgraded wiring, a better transformer, and an improved circuit breaker, the upgrade can run close to $40,000, not including what your local power company decides to charge you for the privilege of private power.
Now, I'm all about getting better sound but I'll leave this option to someone else to test. I've heard people joke about how bad California's power can be. So David and Jerry, when is your personal power pole and transformer being delivered?
