    Marantz HD-AMP1 Integrated Amplifier

Marantz has released a new line of really nice-looking components. The first is a two-channel integrated amplifier, the HD-AMP1.

The HD-AMP1 contains a preamp, two-channel Class D amplifier, and a high resolution D/A converter all in one elegant package. The built in amp provides 35 watts per channel into 8 ohms and it doubles to 70 wpc for a 4 ohm load. While this isn't a ton of power, it's plenty of power to drive most of today's efficient speakers.

The built-in DACs allow the HD-AMP1 to decode all of the popular music formats including WAV, ALAC, FLAC and AIFF, and is also capable of decoding DSD tracks with compatibility of all 3 DSD sampling frequencies - 2.6/5.2/11.2-MHz.

The aesthetics are what really catches my eye. It follows the same styling of other recent Marantz components including the black premium brushed alloy front panel, matching knobs, and signature "porthole" display. The HD series also adds woodgrain side panels that I really love.

For more information about the HD-AMP1 visit the product page on the Marantz website. Marantz US | HD-AMP1
