This past Monday, Tivo announced their newest HD DVR the Bolt+. Under the hood, the Bolt+ will have six tuners, a 3 TB hard drive, and is 4K ready.

Like the earlier Bolt DVR, the Bolt+ will have Tivo's SkipMode to zip through commercial breaks on 20 of the provider's most popular channels, and QuickMode which allows you to watch programs 30% faster. While this may seem like a bad idea, know that QuickMode uses software that corrects the pitch of the audio, so it doesn't sound like a viewing of Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The new Bolt also incorporates Internet streaming. This feature is searchable and allows the DVR to record streaming content like it would for cable service.

The new Bolt+ will be on display at CEDIA September 13-17, and will be available for purchase starting September 15, for just under $500.
