    Thats even worse in quality than a Fisher Price toy cassette player. This would have flopped. Good thing it never came out.

    I bought the following used cassettes for $2.00 each; all chrome. Never tried the BAS Chrome tapes, tried the Sony once before and liked it and found an old Maxell tape as well.

    TDK was my most used brand followed by Maxell. I remember hearing about BASF tapes but the others were much easier to find.

    Just gave away about 500 tapes, new and used to Good Will found during my move to new house. Brought back many memories. I was also a TDK fan as they were the first I found that would record/playback a decent sine wave signal.

    I used to be a fan of TDK but not so much anymore. All my old tapes
    I tried to resuse but couldn't as they just wouldnt record anymore and I had to throw them all out. They were properly stored and kep away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight. They sounded good when new but their longevity isnt so great.

    I saw another Yamaha KX-800 deck on Ebay whose posting didnt last more than a few hours before someone snagged it for $250Cdn.

    Most had belt clips. You may not be aware of this but you unwittingly chose a very high end player. This unit was a very well produced machine that providec awesome sound.
