I spend many of my waking hours listening to ckua.streamon.fm This little listener funded (donation) radio station plays an eclectic variety of music encompassing almost every genre. I have discovered much of what I purchase for my personal collection by hearing it on CKUA first and have had my own musical tastes significantly broadened and altered over the past 20 years. Give it a try, it won't cost you a thing other than your time.

Led Zeppelin - Shepperton Studios, December 5, 2007

Despite my recent meltdown, this deserves to be shared with the people I've met here. And I know there are a few Zeppelin fans on the site.
This has been circulating around the bootleg traders for a little while now. There are several different versions being sold all over the net.

The write-up is from the pure, unadulterated version which I've personally been jamming to for the last week or two. .wav decoded straight from the FLAC and burned in the slowest possible mode.
    Fuck! Does it sound awesome!

It's been four years since the reunion show, and the boys in the band seem to be in no hurry to actually issue an official release documenting the historic occasion. There are MANY versions of the actual show out there - at last check CatZ-Eye was still considered one of the best videos available. Many excellent audio recordings and a few good "matrixs".
This rehearsal recording makes an excellent companion piece.

This YouTube copy is the entire recording, straight through. It comes in at about an hour 48.
It really doesn't sound horrible, much to my surprise!
Not as good as my FLAC files, but for internet listening, it'll do.

The First Rehearsal for the O2 Arena Performance

    Soundboard Recording

    Lineage Notes:
No exact lineage information was given. But, in contrast to the ever funny
"not from internet download!" selling point bootleggers in Japan love to use,
this release is "NOT FROM ANY BOOTLEG!" Untampered and pure, as it circulated
prior to the bootleggers pressing their remastered versions of it.

    Tracklist:

    Disc 1
    01 Introduction
    02 Good Times, Bad Times
    03 Ramble On
    04 Black Dog
05 In My Time Of Dying
    06 For Your Life
    07 Trampled Under Foot
    08 Nobody's Fault But Mine
    09 No Quarter

    Disc 2
01 Since I've Been Loving You
    02 Dazed And Confused
    03 Stairway To Heaven
04 The Song Remains The Same
    05 Misty Mountain Hop
    06 Kashmir
    07 Whole Lotta Love
    08 Rock And Roll

"DECEMBER 5 - SHEPPERTON STUDIOS, SHEPPERTON, LONDON, ENGLAND (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham) (WEDNESDAY)
The band did rehearsals in preparation of the O2 Arena, London, England on December 10th, 2007. Prior to the day before the show rehearsals, the full set was played and also recorded two times. Many other songs were rehearsed, some of them have not been performed live."

    and...

"DECEMBER 9 - 02 ARENA, LONDON, ENGLAND (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham) (SUNDAY)
The final rehearsal before the show. Jason's son played a little drum solo to much applause. The whole set was played, including few attemps to most of songs performed.

WARNING! Audience recording is rumored to exist and may currently be in the hands of a tape hoarder. Approach any tapes or CDs that claim to be this date with caution."

"In my time of dying I don't want nobody to moan,
all I want for you to do is take my body home..."

*this is as close to an apology you're gonna get...

and I can't believe they haven't had it removed yet....

Thanks for posting this Tyler. I'm giving part of it a listen right now on my laptop. I may try it connected to my HT setup tomorrow. Not surprising, the two songs that I have heard so far have been tuned down to a lower key. I'm sure Robert Plant doesn't have the range he once had. Not a slam, just a fact of life.

    Thanks again.
