Singer Glen Campbell Passes
Glen Campbell, The Rhinestone Cowboy, has passed.
While many may know him for that song and as a Country music artist, there was so much more to Glen. Campbell was said to be able to play any instrument he picked up. That being said, he first made his name as a top studio musician in LA. He played on numerous albums, most notably The Monkees, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Daren, Rick Nelson, and Merle Haggard. Glen was also the tour bass player for The Beach Boys.
If that were not enough, his solo career spanned the 60's, 70's, and the 80's. There is a really good article written about him on All Music, http://www.allmusic.com/artist/MN0000664378/biography
Despite all his fame, Glenn was said to be down-to-Earth. In the end, his publicized battle with Alzheimer's ended today in Nashville, just six years after he was diagnosed. Campbell was 81.
Here's to you Glenn.

From what I read he was one of the first to have hits on both the Country and Pop charts, at the same.
I think he also received an award for this belt buckle.
