Pics of the elevations. They also came with all mounting hardware including Molly bolts and I had them toss in the locks for ceiling mounting just in case but I'm not likely to be using that config.

    Intended mounting position

From what I have read, the Elevations are very versatile little speakers. I look forward to reading your impressions once you get them installed.

Yep. Not sure what kind of impressions I'll actually be able to give since I'll be running them as Atmos speakers they may not get a huge amount of content through them where I can compare them to something. I might play around with them as a center temporarily one night while testing everything. I still need to hook all 6 of the new speakers up and verify they actually work after shipping. All I've done so far is unbox and verify no physical damage.

Gonna move to a build thread in the home theater forum after this post but started the build for the TV stand unit today. Everything is cut and sanded ready for stain then assembly. Should be installing everything by labor day weekend.

Well, the only "building" part is the stand the rest is just moving everything to it, new wiring, installing the Elvations and figuring out wiring to those. It won't be anything like a dedicated theater build. This is just a living room. I've definitely learned a lot helping my Dad with these two projects. I'd actually feel comfortable building something simple on my own after this with a little more instruction on how to actually join pieces together. I'll learn that next weekend. He did the frame for my desk to the top during the week when I wasn't there. I know what he did just not how he did it.

Also, I was really surprised since he has a nice table saw/combo machine but all the cuts for the stand have been done with just a rotary saw. The "handheld" kind like you see on construction sites that you plug into an extension cord, and I did most of the cuts so I got really comfortable using it.

It's always nice when a project doesn't require expensive tools.

I have a rotary saw and have used it on many projects around the house. I wouldn't say that I'm very good at using it.

Yeah, next week will be the more expensive tools when we start creating the trim pieces though. Although you could always find pre-made stuff in a shape you like at Home Depot etc. though and just cut it to length.
