Got the SVS set up and audyssey run finally tonight. initial impressions, I like it better than the B&W for sure. Definitely looking forward to comparing it with the Chane though. Sibilance is much less noticeable to me with it on content that had it and voices sound a bit more natural than they did on the B&W. It's definitely a bit bright though so I'll really be interested to compare its metal dome tweeter to the planar tweeter in the Chane. I've had a number of people tell me in advance over on AVS Forum that the SVS Prime series is not liked by a number of people because the tweeter is almost harsh to them. If neither the SVS or Chane work for me I definitely suspect I'm going to end up with Ascend Acoustics for the cloth dome tweeter design. I'm hoping I don't have to actually order another thing to test though. While the testing part is fun, coordinating deliveries to make sure someone is around etc. is a pain. Anyway, I'll be taking advantage of the trial period on the SVS and Chane for sure to make sure I give them a good run.

Well, what are you waiting for? Post a photo of that puppy, unboxed.

SVS Prime Center is on my short list for new center speaker candidates.

    Oh yes.

I'm involved in getting a house ready to sell and it has taken all my free time. As soon as I get it taken care of, I'm going to reward myself for all my hard work.

Here you go. Top shot shows the old center down in the TV stand and a Blu Ray box for size reference.

I'm definitely enjoying it so far, but still looking forward to comparing it to the Chane and possibly an Ascend 340SE as needed. I still think it's a bit bright but that could be the metal dome tweeter SVS is using in the Prime vs. the Ultra as others have mentioned they thought they were harsh in the Prime or it could just be I'm so used to the messed up not as clear sound of the velodynes or those AVS guys have got in my head or some combination lol. I do know that I like it better than the B&W but sometimes I'll hear a voice or something and it sounds a little "off" and I can't pinpoint if it's upper mids, more than likely just bad compression artifacts on Comcast's part, or what. I need to do some blu-ray listening this weekend to really get a good idea there.

I just sold my house 6 mo. ago so I sympathize with you. Is it your prime residence? If so, moving is a b**ch.

No, thank goodness. It was left to my wife.

Still, it's a royal pain to research, hire, and supervise contractors when I'm about an hours drive away. It has been painted inside so now comes the flooring. Then I need to hire a tree guy to trim some really high limbs that have grown over the back of the house and take out some dead limbs. Really, the potential tree bill scares me the most.
