    The Foreigner (Blu-ray) review

    Plot
Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan star in The Foreigner, a timely action thriller from the director of Casino Royale and Goldeneye. Chan stars as humble London businessman Quan, whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.

    My Thoughts
Both Chan and Brosnan are nearing the end of their careers, but that doesn’t stop them from delivering a solid thriller. The film is based on the Stephan Leather novel titled “The Chinaman,” which Chan taking the leading role as a father seeking revenge on who was responsible for his daughter’s killing. It looks like Chan did most, if not all, of his own stunts, which is pretty amazing for a man his age.

    Video 4.5/5 (AVC)

    Audio 4.5/5 (DTS-HD MA 5.1)

    Special Features:

    • The Making of The Foreigner
    • Interviews
    • Trailers
    • Blu-ray + UV Digital Copy

    Conclusion
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Chan in a US-based movie, but he still has the chops to pull off the action scenes and is a good enough actor to convey the character’s emotions as required. The Blu-ray presentation is very good, so be sure to check this one out.
