    Today, they announced the movies for Best Pictures.

    Nope. no director either for DV. At least Deakins got the nom for cinematography. grand theft if he doesn't walk away with it.

    and like usual, ive only seen one of the noms for best picture. Dunkirk. lotsa catching up to do. ill tell u my favorite from these by sometime in april!

    I bought Dunkirk but have yet to watch it. Darkest Hour looks like it would be a good story too.

    I have yet to hear much about the rest on that list. The little bit of television that I watch is off my DVR, so I skip through commercials including movie trailers.

    The forum is my source for new movie info and reviews.

    Wind River got totally screwed by the Academy because Harvey Weinstein produced it and they didn't want any "bad press" over it. Thus far, it's the best film I saw from 2017 and frankly, is much better than Dunkirk in so many ways (sorry Brandon). I'll be out of town this year on Oscar's night and will miss the show for the first time since I can remember...given the politics of 99% of Hollywood, this may be the start of a new tradition for me.

    No love for Wonder Woman either. It should have gotten the Best Bad Ass Main Character Oscar, at the very least.
