He was actually a decent Batman...but, Batman is a boozer in his off time, just like Ben!

You were right not to believe it, because I don' think Ben believed it either, based on his portrayal.
With Bale I thought "This guy is a great Bruce Wayne". (Even if I didn't like how they made him act like an A-hole as a ruse to keep his alter-ego hidden.)
With Keaton I thought "This guy *is* Batman".
With Kilmer I thought "Eh, kinda decent Bruce Wayne I guess"
With Clooney I thought "Yikes, his career is over and the Batman franchise is toast."
With Affleck I thought "This is a good portrayal of an actor portraying a character who is portraying an alter ego." So, I didn't exactly get lost in the film. Just felt like a 'performance' and not a character.

This has got me thinking...
I know there's "old" Batman comics. (Like the one Snyder ripped off in B v S.)
How awesome would it be if Keaton came back one... last... time...
Could be a transitional film that has him training the next Batman. Maybe even go the Batman Beyond route since I think we need a new (less depressing) take on The Dark Knight.
While I'm wishing things I also hope it turns out Stanley Kubrick is still alive and will direct. Both things being about as like to happen as the other.
