    Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K Blu-ray

Panasonic has announced their newest Blu-ray player the DP-UB9000. Panasonic calls it a "reference-class" player and it certainly does have a lot going for it.

It is a 4K Ultra High Definition player that incorporates the company's new HCX video processor. This processor supports not only the current HDR10 spec for UHD Blu-ray but also the upcoming HDR10+.

Audio lovers will be happy to see balanced audio outputs as well as 7.1 analog audio outputs although at this time, I see no mention as to the exact DACs that are used in the analog audio stage.

The DP-UB9000 also has support for video on demand applications including Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Youtube as well as voice control via Google Assistant and Alexa.

You can read more by visiting the company's product page. https://www.panasonic.com/au/consume...QVERNvxk1pVaY0

Has anyone heard more news about this player?

That's good to hear. The 9000 is supposed to retail for around $1600, which is a nice chunk of cash for a player that I don't think supports SACD or DVD-A.

These formats may not be relevant to most people, but if I'm paying that kind of cash, I want a truly Universal player.
