    Samsung Quits 4K Blu-ray Player Market

    "Samsung has confirmed to me today that it is no longer going to be making any new models of 4K Blu-ray player. "

    I suspect streaming is taking a huge bite out of dvd's.. Any thoughts?

    I read that, we are truly living in the end of days.........for the optical disc.

    However, Samsung's like Oppo's main business wasn't Blu-ray players. I suspect that both companies are concentrating on where they make most of their money.

    Their players weren't that good anyway, so no big loss. Panasonic and Sony own the market for 4K players and it will be tough for anyone to unseat them.

    It's good to know that there are still some good post-Oppo options. I'm sure I will upgrade to 4K as soon as 8K becomes a reality. I'm usually a resolution behind video-wise.
